Art on the Waterfront
Challenge
The Henry Jones Art Hotel is located on Hobart's waterfront and is Australia's first dedicated art hotel. The hotel is furnished with over 300 artworks and has been created to present itself as a fusion of art, heritage, tradition and nature. As such, the website for the hotel needed to stylistically represent Henry Jones’ rich artistic heritage, while still having ties to its over brand parent in Pure Tasmania. The platform also needed to seamlessly house Pure Tasmania's global booking process, providing users with access to live rates and hotel inventory.
Response
Developed on Deepend's proprietary Orchid CMS platform, the Henry Jones site allows for the simple housing of core hotel content within a richly designed page template. Core functional modules provide key content elements, such as J-Query Galleries and Video modules, in order to showcase the breadth of art on offer at the hotel. Further third party platforms, such as Formstack, have been integrated into the system to provide a cost effective means of extending the site's functionality.
Result
The site provides a rich functional platform within which to house content key to Henry Jones. The highly functional booking templates regularly see hotel occupancy at above 80%, and improvements to the site’s ability to index within Google has seen the average page rank improve over 50% to where the site is now regularly listed in the top 5 search results for generic Hobart accommodation searches.
